After reading the title of this luxurious review, I bet you’d be surprised to learn that Summer Land Artisan Collection Skincare is made from camel milk!
I was recently gifted a range of lovely products from Summer Land to try out and share with you. But before I dive into my thoughts on the products, let me tell you a bit about the brand.
Summer Land Camels is situated in the mineral-rich lands of Harrisville in Queensland, Australia. They grow, source and manufacture all products on the farm to ensure quality control and are able to maximise efficacy. Summer Land boasts that they are the only camel dairy in the world that actively invests in scientifically researching and innovating the best methods of processing the Camel Milk, to ensure the purest, most potent and highest quality product. Pretty impressive for an Aussie business!
Now to the fun part, the luxurious goodies!
Purifying Shampoo & Balancing Conditioner
Both the shampoo and conditioner are scented with a sensual fragrance of rose, lavender and sweet orange.
The second thing I noticed after the beautiful scent was that the product doesn’t foam much in your hair. This is due to the natural ingredients. If you haven’t used natural products before this can be a bit confusing as you would be used to feeling the product foam up in your hair, giving you the feeling of cleanliness. But after using the product I can assure that it not only cleans your hair but leaves it feeling light and healthy. For the first time in a long time, my hair didn’t feel coated and actually maintained its volume and natural wave.
Luscious Body Wash
The body wash has a light fragrance of rose geranium and lavender. Being a natural based product it doesn’t lather as much as regular store bought body washes. I found using a loofah helps it to lather. The camel milk as an ingredient cleanses your skin and helps it to restore your body’s natural PH.
My young daughters and I used the body wash for a week and I can confidently say it’s safe to use for the whole family. It didn’t dry out their sensitive skin and it didn’t irritate my youngest daughters nappy rash (whereas other childrens body washes have).
Anti-Ageing Night Cream
I love the night cream! I’ve been wanting to start replacing my skincare with more natural products. But I’ve been held back by the idea that natural based products aren’t as effective. Yes, I know they are better for my skin but they have never made me look better (I’m so vain, I know). Until now…
After using the Anti-Ageing Night Cream, I found my skin actually felt healthier and smoother to touch. I wish I had taken a before and after shot, because before using Summer Land night cream my face was dull and blotchy and I’ve always had redness on my cheeks. But after only one week my skin has lost its dullness and is more evenly toned. Plus the redness on my cheeks has improved!
I’ve definitely found a replacement for my current Olay night cream!
Rejuvenating Day Cream
I’ve been using the day cream every day for a week. It’s lightly scented with rose geranium and patchouli. It’s a thick, rich formula which would be ideal for me in the winter months.
If you have normal/dry skin this product would be fantastic for you to use on a daily basis. Camel milk is full of AHA’s, vitamins, minerals, anti-aging and anti-inflammatory immune proteins that help nourish and repair your skin.
The only thing that I could fault with the product is that it doesn’t contain SPF.
Nourishing Body Lotion
The body lotion is in a convenient 250mL pump bottle and is a perfect partner to the Deep Cleansing Hand Wash. It is somewhat thicker than the hand cream so to give that extra bit of potent moisture to your skin and has a sweet orange and lavender scent. The lotion not only contains rich camel milk but it’s also complemented by jojoba, avocado, macadamia and olive oils.
I use it after my evening shower on my arms and legs. And then apply a thick layer to my hands before bed as an intensive treatment.
Deep Cleansing Hand Wash
For me, the hand wash is definitely a luxury item. At $27 for 300mL, unfortunately, it isn’t something that I can afford to share with the whole family. I’m confident that the price reflects the quality of the product and the ingredients used. It is enriched with aloe vera, calendula and chamomile with natural camel milk proteins and AHAs to gently exfoliate and balance pH.
Anyone with young kids would know how exciting and fun pump soaps are. And this one is no different. I found my daughters in the bathroom washing their Barbies hair with the Deep Cleansing Hand Wash! Even though my girls know that hand soap isn’t to play with, their excuse was “Mummy it smells so nice, Barbie wanted her hair to smell nice”. What can I say, the lime and lemon myrtle fragrance was too irresistible.
Soothing Hand Cream
The hand cream is great, let me tell you why. It’s in a 50mL pump bottle, so it can easily be popped into your handbag.
Secondly, it’s not a thick formula like the day cream – which is exactly what you want in a hand cream. It spreads easily across your hands, only 2 pumps were needed. And it soaks into your skin quickly so you aren’t left with greasy oily hands.
Overall, I love and recommend the Summer Land Artisan Collection Skincare range. Not only are the products full of 100% Australian Camel Milk with all it’s health benefits but also natural ingredients that are safe to use for the whole family.
