Yes, you read that right! I am using my power of influence (lol) to campaign that food should be NUDE!

Let me tell you why.
My oldest daughter started kindergarten this year. And I’ve never been more ‘schooled’ in my life! One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that school lunch requirements are VASTLY different from my day (I’m so old). Another lesson (from my daughter) is, that it isn’t cool not to care about the environment. Nude Food actually supports both my newly learned lessons.
What is Nude Food Day?
Nude Food Day was started in 2010 by Nude Food Movers in conjunction with Nutrition Australia. And is funnily enough celebrated across the whole month of October. The challenge is to pack healthy, rubbish free (nude) lunches for yourself and your kids.
We aren’t talking about those “healthy” looking muesli bars etc that actually contain your daily allowance of sugar in 1 bar! We mean healthy as in grew on a tree or out of the ground, hasn’t been packaged in 1 million layers of plastics and makes a loud crunch noise when you bite down.

Introducing the Nude Food Grant School Program
The Nude Food Day team has pledged $10,000 in grants to bring the best nutrition, environmental sustainability and Nude Food ideas to fruition.
There are 3 grants available to apply for. And submissions are open to any registered Australian education provider (includes childcare, kinder, ELC etc), class or student.
Submissions need to include fit within the themes of nutrition, environmental sustainability or naked Food and address the following:
- Tell or show an idea to make your school or community a better place. There are no rules surrounding how this is to be submitted.
- Explain why your idea/ initiative is important and the impact it would have in your school and local community.
- Provide a breakdown of what you need to make your vision a reality. This should include everything you would require to bring the initiative to life eg money, supplies, resources and labor. The more detail provided the better!
Submissions are now open and will close on the 22nd June 2018.
For full grant details and to apply visit the Nude Food Day website.
